Fall Outreach Service Project: Forgotten Harvest

From drippy cucumbers and small, hard green tomatoes to frozen egg patties
and jerky the group of 24 North Hillians who spent 4 hours on Saturday, November
10th, 2012 serving at Forgotten Harvest repacking produce managed to rescue and
repack over 3,785 pounds of cukes and tomatoes alone! Pretty impressive—
right? The group worked diligently without so much as a break until around
12:30 p.m. when they finished up the produce assigned to them. Plus, they were able
to share the experience with a group from Chrysler and a few other individuals
who simply came in to volunteer a few hours.
Repacking lots of food for distribution to various free “farmers’ markets,”soup kitchens, and other organizations that feed the hungry that day was greatly appreciated. . .A huge thank you goes out to each one who participated in this Service Outreach Day! They made a big difference in many lives with their efforts.
